Kayadu Lohar's Navy Floral Saree — RI Ritu Kumar

Kayadu Lohar went full '80s romance for her latest shoot in the Navy & Multi Navina saree with stitched blouse from RI Ritu Kumar. The saree is a sheer navy drape scattered with tiny red floral butis and finished with a scalloped, embroidered red border, while the blouse carries a big old-rose print in pink, teal and rust on a navy base.

The blouse is what makes the look. It has a high band collar, dramatic balloon sleeves gathered into long embroidered cuffs, and a print that's much bolder than the saree. That mismatch is deliberate: the small buti print keeps the drape quiet so the sleeves can do the talking, which is exactly how saree-and-blouse styling worked in the '80s.

Styled by Pooja Karanam, the jewellery stays minimal and vintage. She wears pearl tassel drop earrings from Radiant by Madhulika, statement cocktail rings from Sheetal Zaveri by Vithaldas and Radiant by Madhulika, and a small black bindi, and her hair is in big, voluminous curls. A single red rose ties back to the red border.

The set costs ₹54,000 on the RI Ritu Kumar site and comes as a saree plus a ready-stitched blouse, so no tailoring wait. Sizes S and M were available when we checked, L is sold out, and dispatch takes about 14 days.

To recreate it for less, pair any navy saree with a small floral print and a contrast border with a printed high-neck blouse with full puff sleeves. Keep the jewellery to one pair of drop earrings and a bold ring, and let the sleeves be the statement. It works well for Diwali parties, festive lunches and winter weddings.
